Nick Greer and his team has been around the musical block a time or two. And part of those trips leads to time spent in studios. The Lamplighter began as the concept of big studio compressors adapted to stompbox use. 

Studio-quality compression has been the dream of guitar players since the days of yore, but several problems always seem to come up with pedals—they don’t preserve any kind of dynamics, they’re noisy and they just plain don’t sound right. The Lamplighter is the cure, and then some. 

Beginning with an optical compression core, the Lamplighter incorporates a Blend knob that lets you dial in just the right amount of squish, preserving the dynamics of your clean tone in the process. Dial this in with the Compress knob for a huge range of compression tones. 

The Release switch in the center of the pedal takes care of the sweet spots for you: Three pre-set release time options (Fast, Medium, Slow) let you fine-tune the shape of the compression circuit. 

A global Treble control lets you reintroduce treble content back into the signal post-compression. This is extremely helpful for breathing life back into sublimely squashed signals. Add it all up with a supremely sensible noise floor and you’ve got a comp for the ages.
